Cisco Talos released CAIRN, an open-source, metadata-first research toolkit for identifying, classifying, and tracking AI-integrated malware through the artifacts its AI components leave behind.
CAIRN (Cognitive Artifact Intelligence Research Network) applies a metadata-first approach to hunting for AI-integrated malware. It extracts and relates cognitive artifacts such as prompts, provider endpoints, and API key patterns to help researchers classify samples and investigate emerging behavior.
